I decided to take a picture of this lone scarlet flower. It stood out so much against the neutral toned browns and whites in the foreground.
During my hiatus, I was able to take a multitude of pictures. One image that really stood out to me featured small, pink blooms clustered together.

Although the arrival of Spring means that I'll be seeing flowers more and more, I was still surprised when I saw these purple blooms. The grass around the flowers was completely dead, yet the flowers were perfect.

Cathy at Rambling in the Garden started a series for gardening bloggers called 'In a Vase on Monday'. I'm not a gardening blogger, but I do post a lot of nature. I found a vase with these flowers, so I took a picture.
The rocks' variations in colour, shape and size on this patch of land added a sense of uniqueness. I simply had to take a picture.
